Toronto, ON -- Grizzlies' second half performance leads to impressive team win over George Brown. Georgian defeats George Brown 71-66.

In the first quarter, both teams scored 18 points each, showing their offensive prowess. The second quarter saw George Brown taking the lead, outscoring Georgian with 27 points compared to Georgian's 19 points. However, Georgian bounced back in the third quarter, scoring 21 points while limiting George Brown to only 8 points. The final quarter saw both teams scoring 13 points each, but Georgian's earlier lead was enough to secure them the victory.

Georgian's Lily Roberts-Neef (St. Thomas, ON) had a notable performance, scoring 11 points and contributing 5 rebounds. Janella Viado (Milton, ON) was the top scorer for Georgian with 22 points, including 4 three-pointers. Kyanna Thompson (Barrie, ON) also had a strong game, scoring 17 points and making 4 three-pointers. Ami May (Raymond, AB) contributed 11 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists, showcasing her all-around skills.

In terms of shooting percentages, Georgian shot 40.6% from the field, 32.3% from beyond the arc, and 40.9% from the free-throw line. George Brown had a lower shooting percentage, making 34.7% of their field goals, 25.0% of their three-point attempts, and 53.3% of their free throws.

Overall, the game was a hard-fought battle between Georgian and George Brown. Georgian's strong third quarter performance proved to be the turning point in the game, ultimately leading them to victory. 

The Grizzlies look for their second win in 2024 against Centennial College on friday night.
