Growler Mascot Usage Disclaimer

The appearance and conduct of Growler, the Georgian Athletics mascot, are fundamental to the identity of Georgian College. To request Growler's presence at an event, it's crucial to adhere to the following guidelines:

• Approval for appearances depends on event suitability, mascot availability, and compliance with Georgian Athletics branding standards.
• Priority for using the Growler costume is given to internal departmental needs.
• Georgian Athletics retains the right to cancel Growler's appearance due to scheduling changes or costume availability.
• Growler must be picked up and returned to the front desk of the Barrie campus Athletics & Fitness Centre according to the agreed-upon schedule.

Growler Request Form

Event Requirements/Appearance

• Growler and the actor must dress in a private area away from fans and spectators.
• For filming requests involving Growler, the nature of the footage must be disclosed in the request form.
• All components of the Growler mascot costume must be worn during appearances, with only Georgian Athletics-approved articles permitted.
• The requester is responsible for the care and use of the Growler mascot.
• One handler must be provided by the requester at all times to liaise with Growler during events.
• Georgian Athletics does not provide a mascot actor, it is the requestor’s responsibility to provide a suitable mascot actor.
• A private area must be provided by the requester for Growler to take breaks and ensure hydration.

Behavior, Use, and Care of Mascot

• Growler must refrain from speaking in front of fans or spectators.
• Growler is prohibited from engaging in any illicit behaviors during appearances
• Growler must always adhere to Georgian College’s guidelines for care and respect.
• Growler must be fully attired in the presence of fans, and spectators, and during photo opportunities.
• Growler cannot be utilized in inclement weather conditions that may damage the costume (e.g., rain, snow, muddy conditions).
• The individual wearing the Growler costume should refrain from posting photos or videos of Growler on personal social media platforms.

Duties & Roles

• Duty of the Requester: Respect and adhere to the rules and regulations outlined in this form, including the use and return policy.
• Duty of the Wearer: Respect the costume, spectators, and friends of Growler at all times, while remaining within the Growler role.
• Duty of the Handler: Maintain close proximity to Growler, ensure safety through obstacle navigation, and facilitate hydration breaks in a private location
