Offensive Surge Lifts Men's Basketball over St. Lawrence
Barrie, ON -- In a high-octane contest on November 30, 2024, the Georgian Grizzlies triumphed over St. Lawrence, securing a 93-85 victory at Michele McConney Court. The Grizzlies dominated early, building a solid lead in the first quarter (25-18), before St. Lawrence mounted a strong comeback in the second to narrow the gap to just three points by halftime. Despite a strong showing from St. Lawrence, Georgian's depth and offensive execution made the difference in the second half.
Uzziah Glasgow (Vaughan, ON) was the standout performer for Georgian, scoring 20 points on an efficient 8-12 shooting. He was supported by Alberto Lopez (Dominican Republic), who added 17 points and grabbed six rebounds, providing a critical inside presence. Trey Wilson (Barrie, ON) also made significant contributions with eight points and three rebounds in 22 minutes of play.
The Grizzlies shot a stellar 50.8% from the field and capitalized on St. Lawrence's struggles with their three-point shooting, as the visitors finished the game with a low 26.5% from beyond the arc. In a game filled with intensity and technical fouls on both sides, Georgian held firm in the fourth quarter, outscoring St. Lawrence 31-28 to close out the win. The Grizzlies will look to build on this momentum as they continue their 2024-25 campaign.
