Extramural Cricket Information Page
GENERAL INFO
- Extramural Cricket is the highest level of cricket offered within the Ontario College system (NOT a varsity sport and athletic scholarships ARE NOT available)
- Compete against other college campus extramural teams within the Ontario Collegiate Recreation (OCR), the recreation arm of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) and governing body for all extramural sports in Ontario.
- Indoor Cricket is a RecCup Series sport - meaning that schools play in series of invitational tournaments from November through February annually and then go to a regional qualifying tournament try and win a spot in the year-end RecCup provincial championship tournament in March.
- Tournaments are on weekdays and are FULL-DAY EVENTS, causing players to miss class-time if they choose to play.
ELIGIBILITY
- Players MUST be full time students
- Players MUST register for tryouts. Upon completion of the tryous sessions players will be contacted and offered a spot on the team.
- In order to be eligible for the RECCup Regional Tournament and/or Provincial Championship Tournament, a player must play in at least ONE (1) tournament for the qualifying college campus team prior to those events AND must still enrolled as student at the institution (either in class or on co-op) at the time of those tournaments.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
- Georgian currently only has one Extramural Men's Cricket Team - representing Georgian Barrie
- In 2025-26, the men's cricket team finished 3rd Place at the Mohawk Invitational Tournament
- In 2025-26, the men's cricket team finished 1st Place at the OCR North East Regional with a perfect record of 4-0 defeating last years regional winners Cambrian College
- In 2025-26, the men's cricket team finished as Semi-Finalists at the OCR RECCup Provincial Championships losing to the eventual winners Humber North
