Women's Volleyball Overpowered by Durham in Tough Loss
Oshawa, ON -- The Georgian Grizzlies faced a formidable opponent in the Durham Lords on November 29, falling in three straight sets (17-25, 18-25, 12-25) in Oshawa.
The Grizzlies were led by Emma Kot (Weyburn, SK), who contributed seven kills, and Nevaeh Garcia (Barrie, ON), who recorded a team-best .444 hitting percentage with four kills on nine attempts. Brooklyn Smith (Barrie, ON) added two kills and an ace, while Mackenzie Roy (Edmonton, AB) anchored the playmaking with 10 assists and contributed six digs. Unfortunately, unforced errors plagued Georgian’s offense, evidenced by a .080 team hitting percentage, and their inability to capitalize on key moments left them playing catch-up.
The Grizzlies, now 2-9 on the season, will look to regroup and address their consistency ahead of their next outing. Despite the loss, their resilience and flashes of promise point to potential as the season progresses.
