Barrie, ON -- Great start and a tough finish for Grizzlies, defeated by Loyalist 3-1.
The first set saw Georgian take an early lead, winning with a score of 25-21. However, Loyalist quickly bounced back in the second set, winning 25-21. The third and fourth sets were dominated by Loyalist, with scores of 25-8 and 25-15 respectively.
Georgian's Carina Brooks (Caledon, ON) was their top performer with 9 kills, followed by Emily Dixon (Kemptville, ON) with 3 kills. Mackenzie Roy (Edmonton, AB) provided 20 assists for the team.
Defensively, Ashtyn Smith (Barrie, ON) and Dixon were the standout players for Georgian, recording 22 and 14 digs respectively. Ashlynn Harris (Orillia, ON) had a solid game with 4 blocks.
The Grizzlies are back in action at home this weekend for their last two games of the season; Friday night vs. Algonquin and Saturday afternoon vs. La Cite.
