Lords edge out Grizzlies in five sets

BARRIE, ON -- The Georgian Grizzlies hosted the Durham Lords for their home opener on friday night
The Grizzlies barely lost the first set (24-26), pushing the Lords into extra points. Learning from Durham, the Grizzlies pulled away in the second set with a significant run led by Halcyon Della Penta's (Barrie, ON) serves. The Grizzlies tied the game winning the second set (25-18).
Determind, Durham won the third set (21-25). Georgian took a quick lead in the fourth set. Durham tried to crawl back, but it was not enough as the Grizzlies forced a fifth set (27-25). Durham pulled away late in the fifth set to win (15-17) the match 3-2.
The Grizzlies are back in action tomorrow at home with a matinee match at 1:00 pm with the Fleming Phoenix.
