Bio

Donovan Jacko enters his first season as Head Coach of the Georgian Grizzlies women’s rugby sevens program, becoming the inaugural leader of the team ahead of its official debut in OCAA competition in 2026. He brings nearly two decades of experience within the rugby community, both as a player and coach.

A former five-year member and team captain of the Grizzlies men’s rugby team, Jacko capped off his collegiate career with an OCAA gold medal in 2023. During his time at Georgian, he was named a league all-star on four occasions and received the Howard/Belcourt Award in recognition of his outstanding sportsmanship, dedication, attitude, and leadership.

Most recently, Jacko contributed to the development of varsity girls and junior boys rugby programs at Barrie North Collegiate, further strengthening the growth of the sport within the region. His leadership, communication skills, and passion for athlete development will be instrumental as he builds the women’s rugby sevens program from the ground up and lays the foundation for long-term success.
