North East Regional Champions

Your Georgian Grizzlies captured the North East Regional Women's Hockey Championship, defeating Seneca College in a hard fought battle until the end!

The day started off with a matchup against Canadore College who we haven't played yet this season. The girls came out strong with a dominant victory beating Canadore 5-0!

In our second game we faced Lakehead Orillia, a team who we have played twice before this beating them both times. It was a close game but a go ahead goal from Jordyn MacFadden led us to a 1-0 victory over Lakehead taking us to 2-0 on the day and securing our spot in the RECCup Provincial Championships.

In our third and final game we came up against Seneca College who we prevously met twice as well with a record of 1-1 against each other. It was a close game going into the third period where both teams sat at one goal a piece. Late in the third Alexa McBride made the breakthrough scoring the go ahead goal to lead us to a 2-1 vicotry over Seneca to be crowned Regional Champions!
