RECCup Provincial Semi-Finalists

After a first place finish at Regionals your Georgian Grizzlies Women's Hockey Program look to continue that momentum going into the RECCup Provincial Championships! Last year they finished runners up to Humber College where they look to avenge that overtime loss. 

This year the team headed down to London where Fanshawe College was hosting. In our first game of the tournament we had a rematch of last years final against Humber College! It was a close battle until the end but with a goal from Brooke Browne on the power play we took a narrow 1-0 victory avenging our loss from last years final!

In our second group stage game we came up against Trent University who we have previously played once this year and won that game. A little bit of an off game for the girls resulted in a 0-2 loss against Trent which meant we finished second in our pool facing the third place team from the other pool. 

In our Quarter Final matchup we came up against a familiar foe in Seneca College. Another close battle between the two of us but a strong performance from Brooklyn Baldwin between the sticks secured a 2-1 victory for us, booking our spot in the Semi-Finals!

In the Semi-Finals we faced DC/OT in a rematch of the Humber Invitational Final. Going into the third period the game remained tied at two goals a piece. After a defensive error and an empty net goal at the end we would fall to the eventual RECCup Provincial Champions DC/OT 4-2 ending our season.
