Men's Volleyball Roll Past Seneca with Balanced Attack
TORONTO, ON -- Georgian delivered a dominant performance on Friday night, sweeping Seneca in straight sets (25-22, 25-22, 25-13) on the road. The Grizzlies came out firing in the opening set, posting an impressive .483 hitting percentage while maintaining control throughout. Josiah Grimm (Orangeville, ON) was a force at the net, leading the attack with eight kills on just ten swings for an outstanding .700 efficiency. Ryan Vriezema (Midhurst, ON) added seven kills and three service aces, keeping Seneca’s defense under constant pressure. Setter Ethan Eiselt-Rolfe (Barrie, ON) orchestrated the offense with precision, tallying 21 assists as the Grizzlies spread the ball effectively.
Despite Seneca’s attempts to keep pace in the second set, Georgian’s defense held firm, outdigging their opponent 38-30. Libero Logan Underwood (Toronto, ON) led the back row with ten digs, while the Grizzlies’ consistent blocking presence limited Seneca’s attacking opportunities. Aidan Watson (Barrie, ON) contributed five kills on an efficient .417 hitting percentage, providing a steady offensive presence alongside Grimm and Vriezema. Georgian’s ability to handle Seneca’s service pressure and remain composed in key moments kept them in control.
The Grizzlies put the match away in the third set with a commanding effort, holding Seneca to a negative hitting percentage (-.091) while continuing to apply pressure from the service line and at the net. With Seneca struggling to find consistency, Georgian capitalized on errors and executed cleanly, closing out the sweep with a decisive 25-13 finish. The win marks another strong showing for the Grizzlies, who take on St. Clair in the first round of the OCAA Playoffs
