Men's Volleyball Rally to Defeat George Brown in Five Set Thriller
BARRIE, ON -- The Georgian Grizzlies claimed a hard fought victory in a thrilling five-set match against the George Brown Huskies on Michele McConney Court. The Grizzlies overcame a slow start to clinch the match 3-2 (22-25, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 15-11).
Ryan Vreizma (Midhurst, ON) led the Grizzlies with a game-high 19 kills and a .429 hitting percentage, adding 9 digs and 1 service ace. His performance was complemented by Aiden Kenney (Barrie, ON), who achieved a .750 hitting percentage with 6 kills on 8 attempts.
Setter Ethan Eiselt-Rolfe (Barrie, ON) effectively directed the offense, providing 44 assists and contributing 7 digs. Aidan Watson (Barrie, ON) and Gage McCurdy (Burlington, ON) added 8 and 4 kills, respectively, while the team combined for 6 blocks to impede the Huskies' attack.
The Grizzlies demonstrated resilience after losing the first and third sets, rallying in the fourth and decisive fifth set to secure the win. Their defensive effort, highlighted by 50 team digs, was crucial in containing the Huskies during key moments.
