Men's Volleyball Take Down Canadore in Four-Set Thriller
Barrie, ON -- The Georgian Grizzlies secured a 3-1 victory over the Canadore Panthers, winning sets one, three, and four with scores of 25-21, 25-19, and 25-23, respectively.
Leading the offensive charge, outside hitter Gage McCurdy (Burlington, ON) delivered 14 kills with a .407 hitting percentage. Middle blocker Kaleb Cole (Stratford, ON) contributed 13 kills, hitting .385, while outside hitter Ryan Vreizma (Midhurst, ON) added 13 kills and a team-high 15 points.
Defensively, libero Ethan Eiselt-Rolfe (Barrie, ON) and Vreizma each recorded 10 digs, with McCurdy providing additional coverage. Setter Logan Underwood (Toronto, ON) orchestrated the offense with 25 assists, maintaining an efficient and unpredictable attack.
The Grizzlies' aggressive serving and net presence were pivotal, accumulating 10 total blocks and forcing critical errors from Canadore. Middle blocker Liam Thomas (Barrie, ON) contributed timely kills and blocks, sustaining the team's momentum.
This victory enhances the Grizzlies' record to 6-0, leading the OCAA Men's Volleyball East Division.
