Barrie, ON -- The Georgian Grizzlies showcased their resilience and competitive edge in an electrifying five-set victory over the Algonquin Thunder, winning 3-2 at Michele McConney Court. Georgian started strong, taking the first set 25-23, setting the tone for an intense battle. Algonquin bounced back, claiming the second set 25-19, then edged out a dramatic third set 28-26. The Grizzlies, undeterred, rallied back to secure a tight 26-24 fourth set, forcing a decisive fifth. In the final set, Georgian took control and left no room for doubt, dominating 15-6 to seal the match.
Aidan Watson (Barrie, ON) led Georgian's offense, posting an impressive .583 hitting percentage with 8 kills. Josiah Grimm (Orangeville, ON) also made a solid impact with 10 kills, while Ryan Vreizma (Midhurst, ON) and Wade Fidler (Alliston, ON) combined defensive prowess and tactical serves to secure critical points. Vreizma's clutch play and Fidler's impeccable setup (21 assists) kept the Wolves at bay.
