Grizzlies Shine in Opening Round at 2024 OCAA Golf Championship
The Georgian Grizzlies teed off their quest for OCAA glory in impressive fashion at the Barrie Country Club, with solid performances across both the men's and women's competition.
Women’s Individual Scores: Leading the charge for the women was Bryden Dilley (Barrie, ON), whose composed round of +9 places her comfortably in 5th place overall, keeping her well within striking distance of the leaders. Avery Foy (Golden Lake, ON) closed with a round of +24, and Danielle Zwolak (Mississauga, ON) finished at +27. Collectively, the Grizzlies women’s team finished the first round at +33, positioning them in 3rd place, with plenty of room to make a push as the tournament progresses.
Men’s Individual Scores: On the men’s side, Chris Miller (Huntsville, ON) delivered a standout performance with a remarkable +1, leaving him tied for 2nd place after Round 1. Graeme MacDougall (Huntsville, ON) posted a score of +7, tying for 11th, while Gavin Prosser (Johnstown, ON) and Jack Short (Conestogo, ON) came in with scores of +8 and +9, respectively, finishing tied for 18th and 21st.
With promising starts across the board, the Grizzlies remain well-positioned for a strong push in the coming rounds. Keep an eye on Miller and Dilley, as they both have opportunities to make significant moves on the leaderboard.
