CCAA National Championship - Round 1 Recap
King, ON -- After an intense first round at the CCAA Golf National Championships at RedCrest Golf Club, the Georgian Grizzlies are well-positioned heading into day two.
In the women's individual competition, Bryden Dilley (Barrie, ON) shot a +15 for a total of 86, leaving her tied in 10th place. Dilley is part of the OCAA Women's Team 2, which is currently tied for 3rd with ACAC Women's Team 1, both sitting at +26 for a team total of 168.
On the men's side, Graeme MacDougall (Huntsville, ON) led the way for the Grizzlies, finishing tied for 8th with a score of +5 (76). Chris Miller (Huntsville, ON) ended the day tied for 13th at +7 (78), while Gavin Prosser (Johnstown, ON) and Colton Day (Kamloops, BC) both tied for 18th with +8 (79). Rounding out the team, Jack Short (Conestogo, ON) posted a +10 (81), tying for 27th.
As a team, the Grizzlies men's squad finished tied for 4th with the SAIT Trojans, both at +28 for a total of 312. This strong opening round leaves the Grizzlies in a competitive position as they look to climb the leaderboard in round two.
