RECCup Finalists

After beating last years Regional Champions Lakehead University in this years Regional we secured our spot at the RECCup Provincial Championships in London, Ontario!

In our first game we went up against the hosts Fanshawe College and made quick work of them winning 4-0!

In our second and last group stage game we came up against Fleming College where we saw defeat 0-4.

This meant that we had a to play a Quarter Final match vs Trent to start the second day. After a gritty back and forth battle between the two sides your Grizzlies came out on top beating Trent 3-1 booking their spot in the Semi-Finals!

In the Semi-Finals we met the reigning back to back to back RECCup Provincial Champions in Humber College. After taking an early 4-0 lead in the first period it was looking good for our boys. But in Humber fashion they didn't go away that easy, they eventually tied the game back up in the third period making the score 5-5 with half the third period left to play. The boys responded though, with goals from Josh Presley, Gavin Downs and an empty netter from Dylan Andersen we secured the victory 8-5 sending the back to back to back RECCup Provincial Champions Humber packing their bags! 

In the final we faced a familiar foe in Fanshawe. After a close first period and part of the second period they boys took the lead against Fanshawe through a goal from Gavin Downs. Fanshawe responded though with three goals of their own taking the lead 3-1 going into the third period. We brought one goal back through Josh Presley but it wasn't enough to win the game, losing 3-2. 

We come up just short of our goal but finishing second in the province and taking down the back to back to back champions Humber is a huge accomplishment considering how we started off the season.
