Men’s Basketball Captures East Division Title Behind High-Scoring Season
The first East Division title in program history, a 14-win regular season, and one of the league’s highest-scoring offences highlighted a historic 2025-26 campaign for the Georgian Grizzlies men’s basketball program.
The Georgian Grizzlies men’s basketball team delivered a historic 2025-26 regular season, finishing with a 14-4 in OCAA regular season record and being crowned East Division Champions for the first time in program history.
The Grizzlies built their season around consistency, balance, and one of the strongest offensive profiles in the division. They finished 7-2 at home, 7-2 on the road, and posted a +222 point differential while scoring 1,567 points across the regular season.
The Grizzlies started fast, opening the year 4-0 with wins over the George Brown Huskies, Centennial Colts, Loyalist Lancers, and St. Lawrence Surge. After reaching the December break at 7-2, the team matched that record in the second semester with another 7-2 stretch.
The second-half run included road wins over the Loyalist Lancers and St. Lawrence Surge, a 96-79 home win over the Centennial Colts, a 103-84 victory over the Algonquin Wolves, a 119-59 win over the La Cité Coyotes, and a 110-79 regular-season finale at the Fleming Phoenix. The Grizzlies scored 100 or more points five times during the season, highlighting the team’s high-powered identity.
Jason Sache led the way for the Grizzlies, finishing with 315 points, 159 rebounds, 52 assists, and a 57.1 field-goal percentage. Trey Wilson provided another major scoring option with 270 points, 54 assists, 41 made threes, and a 2.0 assist-to-turnover ratio, while Sean Marseille added 243 points, 112 rebounds, and 32 steals while shooting 54.1 percent from the field and 41.8 percent from three.
The Grizzlies also had key contributors all throughout the lineup, with Zere Christie adding 44 steals and 50 assists, Agok Agok contributing 89 rebounds and 17 blocks, and Jomar Dela Rosa shooting 90.0 percent from the free-throw line.
Jason Sache earned OCAA Men’s Basketball East Division First Team All-Star honours, while Sean Marseille and Trey Wilson were named OCAA East Division Second Team All-Stars. Jason Sache was also recognized as an OCAA Star of the Week. At the 56th Annual Grizzlies Varsity Awards Banquet, Jason Sache was named Georgian Male Athlete of the Year and shared Team MVP honours with Trey Wilson. Uzziah Glasgow received the team’s Coach’s Award.
With the first East Division title in program history, a 14-win regular season, and major contributions across the roster, the Grizzlies put together one of the strongest campaigns Georgian men’s basketball has seen. Backed by high-end scoring, consistent results at home and on the road, and multiple individual award winners, the 2025-26 season marked a historic step forward for the program.
