Georgian Golf Caps Strong Fall Season with Team and Individual Success

The Georgian Grizzlies golf program closed out the 2025 fall season with strong performances across both the men’s and women’s teams, highlighted by an OCAA team bronze medal, individual podium finishes, All-Ontario recognition, and national honours.

The Grizzlies moved through the short OCAA golf season with a busy run of tournaments across September and October.

Georgian opened the year September 13th & 14th at the St. Clair Invitational, hosted at Ambassador Golf Club in Windsor, On. The women’s team started strong, led by Bryden Dilley (+7 total), who finished first overall to open her season with an individual win. On the men’s side, Georgian entered two teams into the event, giving the roster an early chance to compete against a strong provincial field.

The Grizzlies returned to action on September 22nd at the Durham Invitational, hosted at Watson’s Glen Golf Club in Pickering, On. Bryden Dilley (0) continued her standout start with a second straight individual win, while Royal Leader (+12) added a 5th place result to help the women’s team place second overall. The men’s team also showed its depth being the only school to send 2 teams, Ty Turner (+2) led the way for the Grizzlies with a top-five finish. Followed closely by Tyson Therrien (+3) in a 5 way tie for 7th. 

Georgian then competed close to home on September 25th at the Georgian Invitational, hosted at Heritage Hills Golf Club in Barrie, On. The home event was one of the strongest team performances of the season, with both the women’s team and Georgian 1 on the men’s side finishing second overall. Dilley (+10) added another podium result, while Tyson Therrien (+2), Brock Murray (+3), and Chris Miller (+4) all finished inside the top 10 for the men.

The OCAA Championship closed out the provincial season from September 28th to October 1st at Watson’s Glen In Pickering, ON.  The women’s team delivered the biggest result of the year, finishing third overall (+168 total) to capture the OCAA Team bronze medal. Dilley (+30) led the way with a T4 finish, earning OCAA Women’s Golf All-Ontario Team honours, while Leader (+138) helped secure Georgian’s place on the podium. On the men’s side, the Grizzlies finished fifth (+84 total) at the OCAA Championship, with Miller (+14) leading the Grizzlies as the team’s top individual finisher in T11. Turner (+21), Therrien (+23), Murray (+26), and Cole Patey (+36) also contributed across the three-day championship.

Bryden Dilley’s season continued beyond the OCAA schedule at the 2025 CCAA Golf National Championships, presented by PING, hosted by the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) and Medicine Hat College at Desert Blume Golf Club from October 12th-17th. Representing Georgian on the national stage, Bryden Dilley finished sixth overall with a four-round total of 324. She also helped the OCAA 2 team earn a CCAA team bronze medal and received the CCAA Golf Exemplary Leadership Award, adding national recognition to an already impressive season.

Georgian also celebrated several year-end team honours at the 56th Annual Grizzlies Varsity Award Banquet. On the women’s side, Dilley was named Team MVP and received Georgian’s Female Academic & Athletic Excellence Award, while Royal Leader earned the team’s Coach’s Award. On the men’s side, Tyson Therrien was named Team MVP, Ty Turner received the Coach’s Award, the OCAA Fair Play Award.

With an OCAA bronze medal, national recognition, strong championship results, and depth across both lineups, the Georgian Grizzlies golf program closed the 2025 season with plenty to build on moving forward.
