Georgian's Matt LeMay will be back in action next week as he heads to Ottawa to compete in the 112th Canadian Men's Amateur Championship at the Royal Ottawa Golf Course.
LeMay has had an eventful summer, highlighted by a two week run that saw him competing in the Canadian University/College Championship, U.S. Sectional Qualifying and the Ontario Men's Match Play Championship.
Despite the cross country travel and little rest, the Waterloo native managed impressive results throughout. He finished twenty-sixth at the University/College Championships, a strong four-over at Sectional Open Qualifying and capped the busy couple of weeks with an incredible top four finish at the Match Play Championship.
"I'm going to go out there and have fun. Golf is not a job for me, it's something I enjoy doing, and I'm going to have some fun with it" said the Golf Management student.
Georgian Golf has a busy year ahead, as the program will host both the annual Grizzlies Invitational as well as the 2016 OCAA Golf Championship. For more information on Provincials, as well as an overview of the program's success, click here.
The winner of next week's Men's Amateur Championship will earn an automatic bid into the 2017 RBC Canadian Open and 2016 US Amateur.
