Program History

Players 

Georgian participates in the Ontario Colleges Committee on Campus Recreation (OCCCR) indoor cricket tournament circuit.  Nearly 15 college teams participate in the men’s cricket Challenge Series annually. 

Teams are rated according to their performances in a provincial Power Rating system.   The Power Ratings are used to determine the teams who are invited to play in a year-end tournament that will feature the top extramural collegiate indoor cricket teams in Ontario.

Games use a tape ball and are 5 overs long, with tournaments held on either a Thursday or a Friday and featuring a minimum of 3 games, but as many as 6 games in one day.   Transportation to & from event locations, along with uniforms, meals, hydration and snacks are provided for extramural team participants at all tournaments. Georgian traditionally enters three tournaments a season, including one that it hosts in Barrie in December.  

In order to be eligible for selection, players must be either a full or part-time student in a diploma or degree program at Georgian College and MUST fill out a Registration Form and commit to come to tryouts and regular practices.
