WOMEN'S BASKETBALL CAN'T COMEBACK AGAINST VIKINGS

The Georgian Grizzlies women's basketball team played their final home game of the first half of the season against the St. Lawrence Vikings on Friday night at the Georgian Athletic Centre.

It was a tough start for the Grizzlies against the Vikings.

St. Lawrence opened the game going on a 21-6 run by the end of the first quarter.

The Grizzlies clawed back into the game but the opening deficit was too much to overcome as the Vikings won the game 61-47.

Mckenzie Howlett (Barrie) was strong once again for Georgian scoring a team-high 19 points while Kelsey Dunkeld (Barrie) had 13 points and nine rebounds in the loss.

The women's team will play one more game this semester when they travel to take on the Centennial Colts on Tuesday, Dec. 4.

Georgian will host their next home game on Saturday, Jan. 19th when the women's team hosts the St. Lawrence Vikings at 1 p.m.
