MEN'S VOLLEYBALL KEEP ROLLING WITH SWEEP OVER KNIGHTS

The Georgian Grizzlies men's volleyball team opened up the second half of their OCAA regular season schedule on Friday night when they hosted the Fleming Knights at the Georgian Athletic Centre.

The Grizzlies picked up right where they left off cruising to an impressive 3-0 sweep over the Knights with set scores of 25-13, 25-20 and 25-21.

Erich Perau (Peterborough), a former Knight, had an excellent game leading the Grizzlies with 15 kills along with two aces for a team-high 17 point game.

Teammate Darien Haynes (Barrie) was also solid with eight kills, six blocks and an ace for a 15 point game.

Liam Gray (Barrie) inched closer to the all-time OCAA record for career aces with another six in the game.  He now has 165 aces in his four year career at Georgian just two-back of matching the all-time OCAA record for career aces of 167 set by Matt Woods (2007-2012) who played for the Loyalist Lancers.

Georgian has now won four straight regular season contests and has a 9-1 record on the season to sit in first place in the OCAA east division standings.

Georgian will be back in action Saturday when they face the Colts at the Georgian Athletic Centre at 3 p.m.

Tickets are available for all home game at the doors for just $5.
